MillionDollarHomePage Copycats - Are they Making Any Money?
September 29, 2005
A lot of people are speculating whether these copycats are actually making any money. Or, are they getting any traffic at all to their sites? After running the list for a short week, the results are stunning:
- The first copycat Million penny guy James has sold more than 600,000 pixels. He is probably kicking himself right now for charging only 1 penny per pixel.
- Pixel Anyone has sold $18,000. According to Alexa traffic, the site’s traffic shot up to 245/million users reach today
- More than half are making real money
- Only a small list of pixel sellers are doing this for charity purpose
- Majority of the pixel sites are gaining significant traffic in a week or less.
I was trying to keep up with the demand to update this page. However, I am getting too many comments and emails. So please visit the comment section for new sites.

Final thoughts
If you consider buying pixels on any sites, make sure you check their FAQ and About page that the owners acknowledge the original source of the idea is from Alex Tew at www.milliondollarhomepage.com. Also, check out a few sold blocks to make sure they make sense. If you see some well established sites are showing up on the site, or there are multiple blocks that share the same domain name, then ask more questions before you buy since these signs normally raise the red flag. Also, don’t forget to use the Alexa Traffic on my post to check the traffic. Alexa isn’t exactly accurate, but it gives you a pretty good idea as how popular the site is.
